J'aime beaucoup cette selection (comme tu pouvais le deviner) . J'aime bcp le cote varie, on ne s'endort pas devant l'ordinateur, et il n'y a pas d'humeur predominante. C'est une radio top, merci bcp. On verra si Pantouflette se sentira invitee de nous joindre pour danser dans la cuisine avec nous :-)
Sinon pour l'ordre, je ne trouve pas ca genant tel quel. Peut etre que la selection aurait ete encore meilleure si les chansons etaient dans l'ordre que tu avais choisi, mais c'est deja super!

It's a long time since I changed the music on Radio P. I've been quite busy these last weeks (and we'll be even more in the weeks to come!), but I've been discovering new sounds. In the selection, we'll be listening to Sly & the Family Stone, Erik Truffaz, Pink Martini, David Bowie, Julien Lourau, Fat Freedys Drop, Bonobo, Wes Montgomery, Sarah Vaughan, Le Peuple de l'Herbe, and an old funk for which I don't have a title... I hope we'll enjoy it as much as I do.

I'm happy that you liked Loney, dear (sounds lonely but :)), you might have heard the album at home. He was my favorite discovery at the Great Escape in Brighton (even if I missed his concert!).

It was so long since I did my job for Radio Pantouflar, that I did it wrong... I chose the tracks and put them in order...but then I named them in the wrong way! So the selection you are listening now are just in the opposite order of what I intended...anyway, maybe it will still be ok...and I'm too lazy to redo it...so let see what chance did...

PS: it took me a while to renew the radio selection this time, I'll try to do faster for next time...but my music time is devoted to the selection of the gigs we'll go at The Great Escape. 200 bands to choose from!!! Do you think The Roots are like Jennifer Lopez and Britney Spears?...or maybe it is not that the RnB these days...I prefer The Roots...even if this song as a little bit of RnB....next time I'll put some Rythm and Blues, nothing to do with RnB...

The first track is my favourite!
Fantastic!
One of the middle ones (I can't recall the name, will have to listen to it again)

is very very similar to the actual RnB music, so I was quite astonished to see it on radio pantouflar...
"Papa was a roling stone" is there to please and it does! ( refer to mamata's comment)
In brief, Radio pantouflar never disapoints its fans! I am very pleased with the selection.

Ca fait plus varie, et en plus il y a des morceaux que je n'ai pas ecoute depuis si longtemps, comme morphine par exemple.
Comme toujours je suis bien contente de retrouver Buck 65.

Small changes to Radio Pantouflar...will see if we can avoid technical problems now...

* Grandaddy (7 and 15), an american band...I just bought an album ("Just like the fambly cat") and I really enjoy it!!!

* The Killers (4 and 14) from Las Vegas, I presented them with two titles before the Chrismast break

* A deux c'est mieux is "Au suivant" from Jacques Brel (2) and M (1). There is a second funky title from M (8).

* Some hip-hop and electro stuff seen in concerts over the years: Amon Tobin (11) in Gardanne, the Beastie Boys (12) at Paris-Bercy, Buck 65 (9) and Prajna (3) in Marseille

* Guys we'll never see in concerts: Donny Hathaway (6), Billie Holiday (5), and another title from the Jacky Brown soundtrack (13)

* number 10 is from Ben Fold Five for B. How are you doing in Nottingham?

Not bad! To be honest I don't really like "just the two of us", but I suspect that the point is not to cast only music thet I like....
What I do like in this week's collection is that the music is really various, and nobody would get bored.
Well done anyway. And there is so much music (Aren't you allowing yourself to use more and mores space on the server each week?), that it can easily cheer us up every day until friday evening!

Finally we are almost there...this selection is to end the year 2006 and welcome the Chrismast holidays!

A deux c'est mieux does not use a unique song title this week...but they are sharing at least part of the lyrics: one from Kill Bill soundtrack and one from Carlos (the guitarist, not the big one).

There are quite some pairs this week: two new songs from The Pascals, two songs from The Killers (I discovered them this week, from my office mate), two live songs from Earth, Wind and Fire (really good live album! thanks Lionel)

As Christmas is coming, I also had to have a special ending...

You might found this week selection more noisy...but maybe not, we'll tell me.

A deux c'est mieux is funky, with Marvin Gaye and Ben Harper having sexual healing.

Then I chose two tracks from Buckshot Lefonque to give some energy for the week, and two from The Pascals. This japanese band is amazing, fans of Pascal Comelade, I really like the album I have (I should check if they have a new one actually), and it was very difficult to choose only two...

What else? Some french and british rock, some hip-hop from Marseille, electronic stuff from all over Europe, and another one from Jacky Brown...

Hope you'll envoy it!

What do we have this week...A deux c'est mieux is Lilac Wine by Nina Simone and then Jeff Buckley.

There are "energic" songs to be able to keep the rythm until the holidays...not so much energy left to reach them...maybe these songs can help: Manu Chao live, Funkadelic (one of my new CD), and RATM...which some of you might found a little bit too energic...

There are also lazzying songs to rest (still waiting for the holidays): Mazzy Star, Air and a song form Jacky Brown soundtrack (a really amazing soundtrack if you don't know it all!)

I discovered Townes Van Zandt by reading his name I don't remember where...the music style is supposed to be called America, something between folk and country...but anyway, who cares about music styles...
